a couple shows in the works... and then a rest

This summer there is talk of a couple art shows taking place , one in Whistler and the other in Squamish, which Blind Mute is helping organize.
The Whistler show will be part of a summertime event at the old Whistler Hostel grounds on the shores of Alta Lake.  Read more about the location here.    But unlike many of Blind Mute Productions many shows of the past this one will not have a theme to it,   artists were simply asked to show their best work.

The Squamish show will be the third showing of the "la Tormenta Violenta de Arte" exhibit which had shown in Whistler (April 2011) and Vancouver (May 2011).   The date for the Squamish show is still being finalized but we will repost it ASAP.

We at Blind Mute would love to see your smiling faces at either of the shows...  till then...

BMP for life.

oh, I almost forgot,   after these couple of shows the Blind Mute will be taking a long well deserved rest.

13 SKULLS art exhibition

13 SKULLS was thought up by Blind Mute as a way to create a unique canvas for artists to create work on/out of.   The concept was simple,  we invited artists to put their names in a lottery,  the lottery was for REAL skulls (cow, deer, goat, elk, beaver)  The skulls were to be customized in any way the artist chose.   The skulls then were to be part of the 13 Skulls art exhibit which took place at Podium Auto Detail in Whistler (April 23, 2010) as well as a sister show at The Fall Tattooing/Gallery in Vancouver (Seymour street) for the month of May 2010.
Although the exhibit was entitled 13 Skulls,  we had about 15 skulls in total, as well as some prints , customized snowboards, skateboards and a performance piece of art.
With the next exhibit at MY Place we are showing most of the works of art from the original show plus new works.   As well as the artwork, there will be live music by Sean Rose and a showing of some of the short B-movie horror films from past years of the Heavy Hitting B-grade Horror Festival.
The exhibition runs from October 18-28, 2010
Opening reception takes place on October 20, 2010 ( from 7PM-10:30PM) in Scotia Creek Gallery upstairs at Millenium Place (Maurice Young Place)  in Whistler, BC, Canada
